The KA350 is engineered to function even when traditional power sources are unavailable. Power options include:

- Hand Crank Generator: Manually generate power and recharge the battery pack.
- Built-In Rechargeable Battery: Replaceable Ni-MH battery pack.
- AAA Batteries: Operates on three AAA batteries (not included).
- AC/DC Adapter: Optional adapter charging capability (not included).
The internal generator recharges the Ni-MH battery pack while powering both the radio and the flashlight. The solar panel can also operate the radio directly, even if no batteries are installed.
