Bought this for myself and my son. He used it once in October, temps went down to mid-hi 40s and he slept for nearly 11 hrs, safe to say he was comfortable. We have a trip coming u...view morep late November so I said I'd try it out in the backyard because I didn't want him to be miserable and cold. It was a cold early November nite and the forecast was for low 30s. Setup the tent in the backyard, put down the thermarest and spread out the sleeping bag. Like someone else mentioned the bag seemed a bit lightweight for 20 degrees. The only thing I wore was my fleece onesie. It was midnite, I zipped up the bag, cinched the hood and was out like a light. About 2 hrs later I woke up my feet were freezing. I had a fleece jacket in the tent which I stuffed at the bottom to cover my feet and a fleece throw which I put on top of the bag to cover my lower body. I woke up a little chilled but not freezing. I wasn't too surprised after learning the temp ratings are only meant for guidance. I came in the house turned on the TV and the news reported the temp was in the 20s and when they interviewed a representative from a nearby town they said it was 18 degrees. Seeing as I slept reasonably well in what was likely 18 degree weather, I would recommend this sleeping bag. Very good first timer bag just as the salesman said. I'll probably get my son and I a liner and suggest he sleep in thermals or sweats when we go out in 20-30 degree weather but I'm happy with this purchase. view less
The Slumberjack long fits my 6'5" son very well, both in length and girth. Unzipping the bag from the outside was easy enough but it snags easily when trying to zip it up from the ...view moreinside. The zipper teeth are small and frail looking. Compared to my current 20 degree bag, which was manufactured by a competitor, the loft seems thin. My son will do a comfort/temperature test on our next flyfishing trip to the mountains. For the price though, he can live with it's short comings. Since we car camp near our trout streams, we can afford to pack a few extra GI blankets when the temps get down in the 30's at night. view less
I purchased the product for a canoe trek in the Adirondacks this summer with the possibility of cool summer nights, but the week of the trek it was warm at night, so I have not bee...view moren able to check out the rating, which will come this fall and winter with Boy Scout camping trips. It was very comfortable and long enough, which is a big concern being 6'-5". view less
Looked for sleeping bag for my 6'-2" son for our climbing trip in Cascades. Didn't want down since we would probably be encountering wet weather. Also didn't want to spend a fortun...view moree since my son had never backpacked before, but didn't want a cheap bag either that could doom his trip. This bag fit the bill perfectly. It is lightweight and packs small enough. Like all bags you need to be careful with the zipper so it doesn't snag. Camped at 7300 feet on South Sister Mountain prior to summit assault. Ice on creek edges in morning but my son was never cold. view less
My sons are in Boy Scouts. I have 2 Slumberjacks from the '80s and needed a new one since I am much taller than I was then. This fit the bill. The quality is still there. Since my ...view moreold ones are still warm, I had no doubt that this would work view less
