My grandson wanted this to replace one he had lost. He likes to take it in his backpack to school since we have extremely changeable weather in Western New York. Thanks for having this available!

She loved the first one and asked for the same one as a replacement when she grew out of it. We're not at all afraid of the rain so it only comes out when it's really coming down... and it performs perfectly. Highly recommend it.

Details like an adjustable hood with brim, sleeve straps, good zipper pulls, and of course the water permeable membrane make this more like adult outdoor gear than a consumer raincoat.

Best Uses Comments about Campmor Youth Camp-Tech Gale Peaks Parka: I bought this jacket for my son expecting it to be waterproof / breathable to use during outings around the year. The set of features is good, standard for outdoor-oriented jackets. The only real ommission is a hem draw string, which I could make myself. But what bugs me most is that the breathability of the jacket is defeated by the design. About 3/4 or the total outer area (including sleaves) is lined on the inside with non-breathable nylon, and only 1/4 is lined with mesh material, thus reducing effective breathability to 1/4 of what it should be. Why it is done this way is completely beyond my understanding. And yes, I have tested the liner for breathability. It's not breathable. Alas, this jacket is going back to the store.

The waterproof membrane seems effective and has not started leaking after 9 months of reasonably heavy use. However, the seams holding the inner nylon lining at the base of the hood and the bottoms of both sleeves have already come apart. Although this doesn't render the jacket unusable, as the membrane remains watertight, it is pretty poor manufacturing quality.
