Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest 40th Anniversary Edition Self Inflating Sleeping Pad:

I did a 3 night backpack and it was great. I also have the ultralight Thermarest (13 oz) but it always seemed cold to me and took a lot of puffing. This 40th addition Thermarest was perfect, great insulation and I didn't feel a thing. It weights about 2 lbs (I got he larger size for more elbow room) but tt is worth carrying the extra weight for the comfort and warmth. I cut weight with a tarptent.
Tip: to get it in the bag - First roll the pad in the sleep position to get all the air out. Close the valve, unroll it and then fold it in half length wise (like it came when you bought it). Then reroll it and let the last bit of air out.

Comments about Therm-A-Rest Thermarest 40th Anniversary Edition Self Inflating Sleeping Pad:

I took this on a 2 night backpacking trip to Montana. It rolls very small and is very light for packing miles. I am 5'6" and 160lbs. I never felt the ground under me and was very comfy. My only complaint is that it's pretty narrow and just a little to short for me. Because it was comfy and light, I will definately keep it and use it for many trips to come!

Perfect pad. I have bought 3 of this pad. It's very comfortable to lie on, soft and thick enough.
It also comes with a stuff sack and a repair kit.
The "rubberized" bottom is great, and the pad don't move at night. The only thing would annoy me a little bit is that, the pad is a little bit narrow.

Perfect pad. I think it is almost the lightest pad with similar spec. R-value is 4.0, self-inflate,2 inches thick and still keeps its weight to about 1 pound. It's very comfortable to lie on, soft.
Another bonus is the fact that it comes with a stuff sack and a repair kit.
The "rubberized" bottom is great, and the pad won't move at night.

Made sleeping quite comfortable backpacking in the Grand Canyon for 4 days. The 2" thickness is great. Folds and rolls to nice compact size, great for packing. It does crinkle a bit when you roll over on it during the night, otherwise, great product and nice price.

Great Thermarest, I bought the women's version. Packs very small for how luxurious it is, and it's light compared to other silf-inflating models of similar size and thickness. Unlike my inflatable pads, this one is very quiet, no squeaking or crinkling noises when I move around. The glow in the dark valve is kind of pointless, but the rubberized grip is nice. FYI - I was a little disappointed that the women's version doesn't have the retro logo on the pad, it has the modern logo. It came with the retro logo stuff sack though.

This seems to be a really good sleeping pad. Its lightweight and is extremely comfortable compared to the thermarest z lite which I just switched from. I used it during early spring while the ground was still frozen and kept my off the ground and warm.
