Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: Several of my coworkers have used base camp duffels over the years and I've always thought the bags looked good but was afraid they didn't have the compartments I needed for organization. I solved that issue by purchasing several zippered pouches, then putting items in the pouches and have had no problems with organization.

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: Nice and roomy! Great, solid material. It comes with both short handle-straps and backpack straps, the latter of which I suppose are the most practical if you're going to be schlepping it long distances. But for just carrying it from the car to the cabin, or baggage claim to car, who needs those? Where's the shoulder strap??

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: bought for my son who is in the military and doesn't like to use his ruck sack when traveling, but he likes the space he gets with his ruck sack. This bag meets all his needs.

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: I have two of the duffels already. The largest and the medium. They are nearly indestructable.

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: I did some research to find out the best all around bag. Hands down it was the North Face base camp duffel. It is tough, really well made, can take heavy use and is perfect for both travel and outdoor activities. I bought it for my boyfriend who travels extensively and also likes to boat and fish. It also looks much nicer than in the photographs. You won't go wrong!

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: The medium is a little larger than one would expect, but reading the reviews ahead of ordering, it was anticipated. Really like the look of the orange color. The material is a bit stiff but rugged and accompanied by heavy duty zippers. Not many individual pockets, but I like this aspect of the bag. The medium may be a little big (when full) for a carry-on. Overall exactly what I expected and wanted in a duffel. I particularly like the shoulder straps so that it can be carried backpack style. Really useful for freeing up your arms when carrying other things as well.

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: As part of my job, I spend half a year camping in remote tropical islands. Luggage selection is a major issue since it needs to be (1) sufficiently versatile to facilitate constant/efficient movement between vessels, RIBS, rocky shores and camping sites, and (2) rugged enough to withstand constant abuse, occasional water splashing and heavy loads. This legendary duffel performs nicely under such demands and collapses adequately for storage. Plus, if you need to transport lots of gear, the different colour options for multiple duffels make luggage organization very easy.

Q:
I plan to use this bag in lieu of a suitcase on an upcoming trip to Europe. I will check the bag on airline flights but will have to carry it on and off trains and other ground transporation.1 answer
A:
Most train overhead storage is more liberal than the airplane overhead storage. As long as there is flexibility to the bag because the items in the bag are compressible, it should store well.Q:
I got a pair of K2 roller blades and a bike helmet I want a duffle bag to haul them in will this bag fit these items?1 answer
A:
The Medium Base Camp Duffel would accommodate a K2 inline skate and a bike helmet.Q:
I am confused. The first question asks if there are shoulder straps to carry on your back, to which customer care said no. However, from the picture, the shoulder straps are quite obvious. Is this not the correct photo? Also, does it come with a separate single strap (attaching on the front and back) to carry it like a traditional duffle bag on one shoulder? Thanks!1 answer
A:
The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel bag does come with shoulder straps.Q:
Are these water resistant and do the bags encorporate the shoulder straps to carry it on your back?1 answer
A:
The fabric is water resistant, not waterproof, water/rain would penetrate through the zippers and seams. No shoulder straps for carrying like a backpack.Q:
Current versions of this duffel are PVC FREE. Your description states that this material contains PVC.1 answer
A:
these are last years that do have PVCQ:
can this size duffel be used as a carry-on bag or is it too big?1 answer
A:
The ccombined measurement of the bag is 54 inches whcih should meet most airline standards however you should check with the airline because specs vary by airline.Q:
