Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: Base camp awesomeness! Also great as a travel bag. Stuff it and go. Easy to find on baggage carousel. Short portage is not a problem with the back pack straps. Lighter colors allow you to see items inside.

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: Excellent quality duffel. It holds all sorts of gear and takes a lot of abuse, but is up to the task. The straps are comfortable enough to carry the bag as a backpack for a short distance as well.

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: I use this on the back of my motorcycle. It's very bright yellow for good visibility. Pretty tough material. Basic (just one large compartment, with mesh pocket in the opening flap) so any organization you do will be with smaller stuff-sacks. Daisy-chain around the outside makes it easy to hook-down to the motorcycle.

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: I have had this bag for 5 ski seasons now and can fit everything I ski with including my telemark boots. I have the medium and there is nothing I can't fit in this size bag and it's very durable. I like mine so much I had to buy another for my girlfriend because she was jealous :)

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: I use this bag as my main gear bag when doing medical volunteer trips to East Africa and Central America. It is very high quality, very tough, which is great as it ends up being crammed into dirty tight spaces, strapped onto the roof rack, put down on wet, dirty ground. I know my gear will stay clean and dry. It works great as a carry-on if not packed completely full, and should I need to check it, I know it can handle whatever the airline dishes out. Overall extremely pleased. I got the orange color. Just FYI, it is easier to find gear in the bag if the bag is a ligher color, as the inside of the bag is the same color as the outside of the bag. This is my second Base Camp duffel purchase - I also have the small which I use when I don't need a free standing mosquito net and supplemental food.

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: I bought this bag for my boyfreind to use as a carry on bag. He has the large bag however it was getting to costly to travel with. He loves the medium size and he says it fits perfect in the overhead compartment as long as you dont stuff it to much!

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: Great duffle for traveling and as a gear at for skiing and snowboarding. Perfect size for brining gear on a trip or going up to the mountain for two. Great size for traveling, though the Large might be better as checked luggage, though too big for everyday use. If you compress the bag a bit with the size compression staps it'll got as carryon, but obviously you can't fill it all the way. The Small one will probably work best as carryon. Overall, it's the best for overall. Or get a Small and Large.

Comments about The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel: This is my second. These bags are amazing. Tough as all get-up, and with back pack straps to boot! I usually think that North Face gear is sub-par and made for the urban masses, but these bags restore their former glory.

Q:
I plan to use this bag in lieu of a suitcase on an upcoming trip to Europe. I will check the bag on airline flights but will have to carry it on and off trains and other ground transporation.1 answer
A:
Most train overhead storage is more liberal than the airplane overhead storage. As long as there is flexibility to the bag because the items in the bag are compressible, it should store well.Q:
I got a pair of K2 roller blades and a bike helmet I want a duffle bag to haul them in will this bag fit these items?1 answer
A:
The Medium Base Camp Duffel would accommodate a K2 inline skate and a bike helmet.Q:
I am confused. The first question asks if there are shoulder straps to carry on your back, to which customer care said no. However, from the picture, the shoulder straps are quite obvious. Is this not the correct photo? Also, does it come with a separate single strap (attaching on the front and back) to carry it like a traditional duffle bag on one shoulder? Thanks!1 answer
A:
The North Face Medium Base Camp Duffel bag does come with shoulder straps.Q:
Are these water resistant and do the bags encorporate the shoulder straps to carry it on your back?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The fabric is water resistant, not waterproof, water/rain would penetrate through the zippers and seams. No shoulder straps for carrying like a backpack.Q:
Current versions of this duffel are PVC FREE. Your description states that this material contains PVC.1 answer
