The terramar thermawool felt great right out of the package. Nice and thick. Wore it as a base for a weekend camping trip in NJ where it got down to the mid 30s and was pleasantly comfortable with that, a wool sweater and a shell. I would recommend this if you are looking for synthetic alternatives for base layer warmth.

Since the Thermawool Superfine Merino Wool Midweight Half Zip Shirt is a hydrophilic fiber, holds onto water it will not dry as quick as a synthetic. This said the thermawool will keep you warm even if wet which is why wool is better than cottonAnswered on 6/1/2011 by Steve from CampmorA:
