I live in Alaska and these are excellent for running in the snow and ice. Cheaper getting them here than at the local running store, which cost $10.00 for 20 screws.

Stabilicers with replaceable cleats provide unbelivable traction on icy trails. You don't have to be concerned with removing the stabilicers if you encounter dirt or rocks. It is easy to replace the cleats if you dull them. The product is almost indestructible unlike other products that can break.

The best thing about Stabilicers is that the cleats are replaceable. A disappointment, though, is that the cleats are not hardened and wear rather quickly when climbing on boulders where there's only a sporadic covering of ice. They grip well on bare rock so the tendency is to leave them on for the entire climb so as not to risk stepping on a barely visible layer of the slippery stuff. My Stabilicers are about 3-4 years old and only worn when I need them. This is the first time I've changed all the cleats, but I'll probably pay closer attention and do it more frequently. The soles are the Vibram brand and I'm noticing that the lugs are showing cracks. I hope they're still capable of holding the cleats in place.
