Comments about Sorel Men's Caribou II Winter Boots: This isn't the model boot I have, but it's the newest generation/closest to it. I've had mine for almost 25 years! Wax the seude every 1-2 years depening on usage the year before (doesn't look great, but it works). With this years snow in the Northeast, I'm in them every week for a couple of days (shovelling, walking, playing with my kids, snowshoeing) - their still the best boots I have. Just had to add an athletic shoe insert to them as I've gotten older (arch's).

Are these boots good for hiking? I have read they are more for keeping warm while shoveling snow but not good for trail hiking nor snow shoes.
