Comments about Slumberjack Big Cot:

I use this product for all my camping. Our local Scout Camp bought a bunch of these for use at summer camp, so I knew it had to be durable. I especially like the gear loft that's attached under the cot. Helps to keep things off the floor of the tent. It's a well made cot, not hard to set up, but the only down side I can find is that it is extremely heavy. But that's what one would expect from a well made, sturdy cot.

      Comments about Slumberjack Big Cot:

the cot is very difficult to assemble because the brace arms do not fit into place with out a lot of coersion. i can not do it by myself; I have to have my husband do it and that has caused a lot of frusteration for me. So far I have only used it as an extra guest bed for company. I do not feel that it would be good to take on trips because it is bulky, 22 lbs, and difficult to assemble. Once it is up and in place it is a good product.

40+ years as a minimalist and I had a chance to spend a week at a car accessible campground for a canoe "symposium". So a new 8x8 7ft. tall tent and this cot. It was like being in a luxury hotel in the woods. I'm 5'8" about 215. This is an over-sized cot and while it weighs a ton and takes up a 3rd of the tent it was sooooooo worth it. Solidly built and easily assembled. Sits high and leaves great storage below.

                  Comments about Slumberjack Big Cot:

My husband and I have camped for years, first with our chldren and now with our grandchildren. We've always slept on an air mattress but decided to buy cots this year. I can't believe the difference. Our new cots were comfortable and so much cooler than an air mattress. We purchased the extra large size because my husband is over six feet tall. I highly recomend this size if your tent can accomodate. I'm 5 ft 6 inches so I had plenty of room and was very comfortable. My husband doesn't usualy sleep well when camping but he had no problems this time. The cots are heavy so you couldn't use them for back packing and they might be combersome if you had to walk a distance to the camp site. But for the camping we do - parking on or very near the site - they were no problem. We also had more room in the tent this time because we were able to place the cots in an L pattern leaving plenty of room for walking around. This was a good buy.

The center height of the Mount Pass 3XTE is 50". The height of the Slumber jack Big cot is 19" so once set up inside the tent you would have 30" above before running into the tent ceiling.

Is the fabric breatheable? In a humid climate that can make all the difference. I slept on a friend's cot - don't know the make - it had a mesh fabric that was very comfortable.

Also, I am a small woman (5'4") and while I like having room to turn over, is this going to be just gigantic for me? It seems to be the smallest of the Slumberjack cots. I am also considering the Maine Military cot.
