Comments about Trek Tents Sixty Second Set-Up Dome 2-3 Person Tent:

The first tent I had like this one lasted 20 years. I was very happy to find another one like it. The solar reflective rain fly is perfect.

Would recommend this tent for one to two person for ease of setup and functionality.

Comments about Trek Tents Sixty Second Set-Up Dome 2-3 Person Tent:

This is a really useful and convenient tent. It is meant to be used as a quick, no-frills shelter for short trips. Definitely easy to set up and take down, packs away nicely and is not too heavy for short hikes. It could use another pouch or two inside the tent and it would be nice if there were a way to attach a vestibule for gear. The only other weakness is that it can be short for taller sleepers (greater than 6 feet). Very fine tent. Glad to have purchased it.

Great tent, amazing set-up. Needs zipper across bottom of doors so doors

Comments about Trek Tents Sixty Second Set-Up Dome 2-3 Person Tent:

I've used this tent once. When you buy a tent on line, you never really get to see how it works. Most tents have a door and window combination that allows you to unzip both at the same time. For some reason, this tent has a separate door and window in the same space. When opening, it means you need to unzip 2 things to get inside or to get out... leaving extra time for pesky misquitoes or rain to get inside. That was disappointing. It faired well in one night of hard rain. Height is nice compared to lower back pack tents. It really is easy to set up.

Comments about Trek Tents Sixty Second Set-Up Dome 2-3 Person Tent:

I went camping on my own for the first time, and needed a tent that didn't require two people to thread the poles (our other tent is a 5-man tent because my 6'2" husband wants to be able to move around in it easily). This popup tent was great! Super-easy to put up and take down, once you know to make the poles straight where the spring is, when connecting. Would work for 2 but I don't think 3 people.

I think one review said it was tough to get back into the original bag, but I practised several times, and still had no trouble after the camp trip itself.

Just returned from conventional camping and fishing in northern Ca. First time i've used this tent. Long story short, my campin' pals were impressed by the quality and conveinence of this tent. I will use it this way during the rest of the year and plan to use it during the winter as I continue exploring Death Valley, Ca as i've done over the past 20 years.

Comments about Trek Tents Sixty Second Set-Up Dome 2-3 Person Tent:

Used twice so far. Set up less than 2 min. Would like to see ties on fly to pull sides out, not just down. Door bottom has no zipper, so going in/out req's opening door 1/2 way at least, which could let bugs in. (We had prev tent with bottom zipper that kept door mostly in place when entering/exiting.) But tent is new to us--we may find it's not a problem. Love the set-up system.

The floor will support 2 camping cots. Since the tent is not very tall you would want the cots to be cots that are cloes to the ground to preserve head room.

Can you give specific steps to take down this tent?
Asked on 3/22/2013 by hallie from wyoming

                1 answer

                • Staff Reviewer

                  A:

                  Remove all stakes
Remove the fly, fold in half and then in half lengthwise and put aside
Undo manual ‘Locking’ mechanism at the top hinge
Reach in the tent, grasp the center hub and pull down
This will let the tent center to drop down and the hinged legs will begin to fold up
Gather the legs and draw them to the center of the tent and compress it ‘in’ on itself as far as you can
Put the tent aside and fold the ground sheet in the same manner as the fly
Lay the tent at one end of the fly, lay the ground cloth on the fly and roll the fly/ground cloth around the tent
                  Put tent in carry bag
Put stakes in stake bag and put in carry bag
                  Zip carry bag shut
                  Move on

                  Notes
Never pack a wet tent if possible
Shake or knock all debris off various tent components before packing
If you packed your tent wet, dry it out –soon
You can let things air dry before you pack up
Entire ‘striking’ process takes about 2 minutes
This was a favorite tent to show in the store because set up and take down are so quick
We have sold this tent for 30 years
                  It works
It was a favorite tent of ‘Smoke Jumpers’ for years.
