I wear Merrell Mocs most of the time for daily foot wear. I like the soles on this model because they are Vibram and have more of tread pattern vs the normal Moc which is kind of slippery at times.

I bought these as a Christmas gift for my husband, who received them early because his old Jungle Mocs started leaking. He says they're VERY comfy - like the Jungle Mocs - but the higher rubber edge around the sides and the waterproof membrane should keep his feet warm and dry for quite a while!

He likes being able to just slip these on!

I wear these commuting including walking 3 miles a day going to and from work in NYC. These are very comfortable and provide good support. Compared to "regular" Merrel's the fit is a bit smaller - I went up a half size. They have super traction (much better than regular Merrels) and my feet are never cold even though I am wearing lightweight wool dress socks most of the time. they seem to breathe well as I have had no problems with sweaty feet. They are warm, so they get hot wearing indoors after a while. The collar around the top is snug without feeling tight. Obviously if the snow, slush or water comes over the top, you'll get wet.

Bottom line - If you like the regular Merrel's spring, summer and fall, you'll like these in the winter.

I walk to work every day, and these are my go-to winter shoe. They are great in everything but the real deep snow. They have saved me from eating it many times, and are plenty warm. Basically like snow tires for your feet. The only way to get better traction would be those yaktrax.
