100% wool quality beanie seems like it's a thing of the past, well almost. A hat like this, quality woven, legitimately 100% wool, is rare. The hat is thick and warm. Felt head band on the inside of the hat is soft and comfortable on your head and keeps the wool from itching. We got the blue and it compliments the gray beautifully.

Only possible cons are that the weave of the hat is not quite as tight as a beanie like a wool military watch cap, so it may not be totally windproof, but we haven't tested it in high winds. This weave may also let some water through in a steady rain. In either case a shell's hood should keep everything out.

One more note, if you have a larger head you may want to look into a different hat. This hat is great and comfortable but may be a little small for bigger guys. I bought this one for my wife so it's no problem, but would be a little small for me without stretching the weave out.

The hat is great. However, one drawback is the fleece lining inside already ripped a thread first time putting it on, but there are numerous alteration places to have it fixed. Other than that hiccup, I recommend Sherpa products anyday.

We found this hat and it became my favorite right away! I have a big head and this hat fits a little big. I like that because it doesn't ride up on my head at a belay like every other cap I have. A+ cap for climbers!!! It has great breath ability on the move and keeps you toasty when your stopped!!! On a plus we found a hat just like it for my son.

Snug fit keeps your head toasty warm! Beautiful mottled colors are eye-catchy and a great match with a coat of a similiar, solid color. I bought 3 different styles of the Sherpa Adventure hats this season and this was my favorite.

Since it's knit in a spiral this hat has no seams that can irritate your head. Great fit, warm, durable. I ordered two more after falling in love with my first.

My 3rd Sherpa purchase (micro fleece quarter zip and outer shell for active winter activities), excellent quality as usual. This is not really a hat for 40 plus temps but sub freezing days. It does breath but it is also incredibly warm.

Tad small, but OK. Small holes in crown, snow can get in, but it makes it breathable.
