Definitely not kid sized. Too bulky to fit under a helmet.

Because I throw newspapers at night, I drive all night with the windows down. It is windy and can get very cold. This hood is comfortable, blocks the wind, and keeps me warm.

I have had this Campmor Balaclava style hat for 4 years and bought another as a backup. I would not want to face a winter without this great piece of gear. For skiing it is either a loose neck gator on mild days or a full head covering hood on frigid days. It fits great under or over my helmet. Around the house, the dog park and on walks it is comfortable and warm. When starting out I can wear it as a hood and as I warm up I can open it up and wear it as a scarf/gator on my neck. The windproof polartec fabric is key to its warmth. Regular polartec is NOT the same and this product would lose its utility if it were not Windproof polartec. Hey, have you ever tried Windproof polartec fully zippered leg sweat pants? If not you will be amazed at how warm you can be in frigid temperatures performing even mild activities outdoors. And there is NO Bulk, you feel light as a feather! With a pair of thermal underleggings you are good to 20 below!

Loved the basic Bacalava from acouple yrs.ago & this is a huge improvement.Adjustable forehead & chin to neck drawstrings that flex as you move. Face 20*degree temps while driving into a 10 mph headwind at 3am and this hood keeps me toasty while driving a standard open forklift; it even fogs up my eyeglasses while doing this. Will fit under a hood w/out bulkiness,can fit a wool watchcap under it and stays where you put it.Everything it covers stays warm even after 2 1/2 hrs. of fork lifting in those 20* temps. Fit whatever you want underneath it's roomy hood area,snug it down w/the 2 drawstrings and you're comfortable; this includes any kind of earphone. The spring-release drawstring assembly keeps them snug but very comfortable & ready to loosen-up at a quick touch. Extra material is left covering up both between your shoulder blades/mid-chest areas the wind can't blast through. Pull it off your head when inside or you will quickly begin sweating.It really excels when you're not moving. Wish it were used in glove liners.

The pros are:
Very comfortable, good material, and made to keep you warm in every condition.

Only thing I don't really like is that it might be hard to breath when the hood and mask is on.

We shared the balaclava (gift) the first week - colder here than there and I was backpacking so got to try it out and loved it... then mailed it on and now I need to buy my own! Hopefully it comes in smaller sizes, otherwise liked it so much that I will work with what is available. I used it for hanging out in the evening and also for sleeping in close to freezing temp in backpacker tent - cozy & warm!
