Comments about Princeton Tec Fuel Headlamp:

Uses two AAA's meaning you can use rechargable batteries with a small 12v recharger. Small enough to carry conveniently. Less light output that a 3-battery light, but more than enough for most uses.

Comments about Princeton Tec Fuel Headlamp:

Great headlight, and made in the USA! Lasts a long time on 3 AAA batteries, light weight and care-free. The only negative I have is that the battery compartment latch will break if horsed with too much. But.. if the latch breaks you can just used a heavy rubber band the the light will still work great and be waterproof. I've used one this way for over 2 years! Overall not the best headlight, but for the price they are absolutely wonderful. We own a farm, and used about a dozen of these headlights for several hours per day in the summer, and over 5 hours per day in the winter. I have yet to have one fail, and I have been used them for years. I did have one DOA right out of the box when new, but Campmor replaced it no questions asked right away. The replacement worked great of course.

I went on a two day practice hike for my AT thru-hike and ended up hiking for an hour in the dark. When I first got the lamp I thought it was too bright even at its lowest setting but it was perfect for hiking in the dark. I'm very happy with my purchase. I haven't used it long enough to test the battery life but I'm very happy with it so far.
