It's mandatory to wear a PFD around the water so, from a kid's perspective, it is necessary to find one that is comfortable and not too hot. From an adult's perspective, it is necessary to meet safety rqmts and not break the bank. This lifejacket meets all rqmts for our family. A great purchase at the best price around. I just wish it came in different colors!
