Comments about Gerber Big Rock Fixed Blade Knife: I use this on multi-day hikes because it has many uses. You can cut rope, chop, slice or a variety of other uses. Hard rubber grip does the job even when wet. The serrated blade has come in handy many times. I looked around at a lot of knives and this fit the bill. Both for use and price.

Comments about Gerber Big Rock Fixed Blade Knife: I like it in every way but one the tip bent a little on me cause of the thiness of that area. Other then that I love it. It wad replaced since I had it for a wk. I got a new one back two wks later and it works great no bend yet. But before I was cing what I can do with it AMD how it holds up. It did very well.

Comments about Gerber Big Rock Fixed Blade Knife: Nice size, weight, and grip. I used the belt clip and found it not too bulky. I like that its a fixed blade and feel perfectly balanced in hand.

Comments about Gerber Big Rock Fixed Blade Knife: I read a lot of complaints about the grip but it seems fine to me. I plan to take this knife backpacking often. Since I just purchased this knife very recently I cannot comment on durability. I will have to rely on Gerber name for that at the moment. This knife feels good in my hand and seems to have good balance.

Comments about Gerber Big Rock Fixed Blade Knife: Bought this knife tonight at a local store not sure what to expect... I love it. I've roughed up some things around the house, taken down a small tree, cut some rip cord... If there's a better camp knife out there please tell me where. I love this thing. Wanted to be sure it could handle itself before I got into the back country & I'm happy. Going to get another one tomorrow to keep around the house. The grip is kinda thin & I had my doubts at first glance but after holding it, its clear it was designed that way. It just feels good in my hand. Grip is kinda tacky to prevent slippage & it works, this is not a blade you want to run away on you. I say get it :)

Comments about Gerber Big Rock Fixed Blade Knife: I have worked this knife hard in the woods: batoning, chopping, clearing greenbriars and it is still sharp. Some people complain about the handle being thin and uncomfortable but they haven't used it enough to understand the advantages of the design. Control of the blade is excellent. The thin profile of the handle and sheath also makes it an easy carry on your belt in difficult terrain. In a daypack or larger pack pocket you won't even notice it if you leave it there for emergencies. The thick blade back and tang w/loop make this knife a little bulldog in the woods and mountains.

Comments about Gerber Big Rock Fixed Blade Knife: This is a gift for a buddy who was an Army Ranger. I re-gripped it for him in oak. I don't know how it will hold an edge since it is a gift I don't want to use it. If it won't hold an edge I WILL find out and it will then be a bad gift regardless of the new grips. I believe it will or I wouldn't give it to a Ranger.

Cons
Best Uses Comments about Gerber Big Rock Fixed Blade Knife: Basic knife. It is not the most comfortable knife I have used. I have seen some since I would have preferred for the same money.
