Safari Hatbandoos are oversized to allow for the crystals to swell. By leaving it in water a little more or a little less you can adjust the swelling of the band thus adjust the size. Make sure to check it occasionally as you are hydrating it to create a perfect fit for you.

Soaked for more than the recommnended 5 min and a little of the cooling gel cam out. Good sun protectoin, cooling gel works. Hat size changes as gel expands and contracts. We had 90's during the day,and I switched to my straw hat for better ventalation and overall confort.

Does not stay cool for hours as stated. Would not recommend this to anyone hoping to and have it stay cool for even an hour.
