Purchased these Gaiters for a litter warm weather version that the OR Veritas. I have a size 13 foot, and these gaiters were pretty much at the maximum. I did 35 miles round trip over some pretty rough terrain, and the gaiters held up great. My only gripe is the small size. They would great gaiters for someone with a size 11 or smaller boot.

At first, they seemed backwards to put them on, when compared to my full length winter gaiters. But, I figured it out, and now they are pretty easy to put on.
I haven't yet used them hiking, but have worn them a couple times while using a chainsaw. They work great keeping sawdust out of my boots!

Even in the large size, they bunched awkwardly around the boot and pant cuff. I sold them to a lady and she is pleased with the fit. I will stick to my regular over the calf length gaiters regardless of the season.

These gaiters were easy to put on and comfortable on a long hike in the Adirodacks going through mud!!!, wet stream crossings, rocky trails and climbing up, over and back down multiple cliffs. Lost one in the Uphill Brook while washing off the mud. Am ordering another pair.

Comments about Outdoor Research Rocky Mountain Low Gaiters:

Recently used these on a 4 day backpacking trip through extremely muddy trails (sometimes up to 9 in. deep), sand, several creeks and 1 full day of rain. Without these gaiters in combo. with my WP low top hikers I would have been miserable. These gaiters stopped the rain coming off of my jacket and down my leg from getting into the top of my boot and the deep mud from spilling over the sides of the shoe and into the opening. My feet and socks stayed dry and clean. I didn't have any problems with the strap like some of the other reviewers. These aren't waterproof, but they still do a great job keeping the mud and water out. Great product!
