Comments about Kelty Cache Hauler Frame:

My friend had this pack in Idaho last year and we used it to pack out three of the biggest mule deer we have ever shot, each one over 200 pounds. This pack made the pack out so much easyer. I had to get one myself for next years hunt. This pack is sturdy and light weight. The straps hold the deer tightly to the pack.

They don't build them like they used to.

        By Joe the weekend camper

        from Spartanburg, SC

        Pros

        • Built in pack cover
        • drawstring closure
        • Frame and hauler
        • Hinged shelf

        Cons

        • Pockets too small
        • Too much padding on belt

        Best Uses

        • Short weekend trips
        • Use hauler alone

Comments about Kelty Cache Hauler Frame:

Recently purchased this pack to carry myself on hiking trips with my son. Frame a little frail looking, but seems sturdy. Easily adjustable. Felt really comfortable empty.
Loaded the pack up for a trip this weekend. When loaded, I put the pack on again. There is way too much padding on the belt. Almost impossible to tighten up adequately to capture weight of the pack on hips - ended up sliding down, and putting way too much weight on my shoulders. When I really cranked the belt the cheap plastic buckle popped loose.
I shifted my gear into my 30yo pack from when I was a teenager. Frame stronger. Actually had a metal buckle on belt. Held more. Carried better. They don't make them like they used to.

How much weight can this pack handle? I am looking to haul about 100-150 pound rock about 3 miles. Yes I am crazy but it is a breatifal amathist I found and is in hiding now until I can get it down.

            A:

100-150 lb would be a bit much 75 lb more like what you can expect to carry. you probably do not want to break this piece up into 2 pieces. This said, maybe a travois may be a better way to transport a heavy item like this.

What waist size will this fit? I'm 30", which puts me under for quiet a few packs.
