A M-L would be a top torso length of 21". At 24" this would be too short so you would tent to carry the weight on your shoulders. I just want to extend the method of torso measurement to make sure the 24" is your true measurement:
Have a friend measure your back. Stand with your back to them and your hands on your hips like you are scolding someone. Your thumbs will point to a stop on your lower spine. Start from this point and measure up to the C-7 vertebrae, which is the one that sticks out of the back of your neck when you touch your chin to your chest.
