Comments about JanSport Merit Daypack: I purchased this product to last through my master's degree. Before this, I never found a backpack that could remain compact while having the capacity and strength to carry my textbooks and other equipment. I plan to use it for hiking and camping when I get the opportunity, but I spend most of my time hauling academic work right now, so my search was primarily based with acedemic use in mind.

Comments about JanSport Merit Daypack: This pack was a XMas gift for my middle-school son. He needed a large-capacity daypack for all his school books. This was perfect. Good quality material at a decent price. Hopefully, he can use it for Scout outings as well.

Comments about JanSport Merit Daypack: My wife works for a national program, travels a lot and carries a lot in her bag: food, her computer, plants, files, gifts, medical supplies, etc. Very functional, professional looking & adaptable backpack

Comments about JanSport Merit Daypack: My boifriend had an older version (15 years) of this pack that he loved and had held up well. He uses it to commute to work and for short motorcycle trips. After much searching I found this slightly updated version. Modern comforts and utility without all the unnecessary flash.

Comments about JanSport Merit Daypack: Good for short trips, but bulky when filled. Comfortable to carry.

Comments about JanSport Merit Daypack: This daypack is not at all what I expected from my past purchases of JanSport packs. I have one that is 12 years old and has one broken zipper so I decided to upgrade to a new one. When I received this pack I was very disappointed with the quality and the lack of organizational pockets and clips. The old one is 3 times the quality of what this pack is even though they are very similar. I was expecting this to be an upgrade to the newer version of my old one and it fell terribly short.
