I was surprised that users found this product cheap. I keep mine in my bag and use it daily. I save the forks and spoons handed out when getting food to go and I also use it when I am outside eating. It's been handy and lasted for months.

As soon as i received this fork i noticed a little piece of plastic in the bag with the fork, which turned out to be part of the hinge!! I had better luck using it without the handle!!! Horrible design in my opinion!!!However it is sturdy in the open position and pretty long for freeze dried food bags!!But it still didn't work out between us!!!

The MSR folding spork is unreal
Folds up nicely and fits into my pots.
Once open it doesn't collapse and it long enough to get to the bottom of the freezied died meals with out getting your hands messy.
I am still using the one I purchased four seasons ago and it still 100% like new.
I bought my son his second one also just as a back up just in case he misplaces his first one.

I bought a handful of these for a scout troop. Two of them broke as I was taking them out of the packaging. The quality of the hinge was terrible. Perhaps the ones I purchased were from a defective lot or the design is poor. In any case, buyer beware.
