Comments about Campmor Youth Cascade II Parka:

This is a well constructed jacket with an adjustable, visored hood and a zipper that goes all the way up to my son's nose.
It's basically a grownups rain parka scaled for a kid.

Comments about Campmor Youth Cascade II Parka:

I bought the smallest size possible for my 4-year-old, who is typically wearing size 5. The jacket is pretty big and feels more like it's about 1 size bigger than labeled. The jacket works fine for keeping out rain--it's just bigger than I expected (but not worth sending it back when my son will eventually grow into it).

This jacket worked great for our son during a 3 day outdoor music fesival in the mountains where it rained EVERY day. The mud washed off easily in the washing machine too. Don't know much about the fit because we went for the smallest size, knowing it would still be a little big for our small 4 year old. Should be good for many rains to come!

I got 3 of these for my 3 kids, and they all love them. I bought them each a size too big so we could hopefully get a couple of years out of them. They are nicely made and keep the water out. The hoods are also nice because they have a built in visor thing that is adjustable. Very nice for the price.

Sizes work in relation to age so at 9 years old if he is on the big size a M 10-12 or if he is on the smaller size a S 7-8.

I would recommend buying a little big with any rain shells so you can layer. I would definitely take this jacket along to the Grand Canyon. We plan on taking ours along on all camping & backpacking trips with our 7 year old - we do about 4-6 per year. You can't beat this price for what you get! Enjoy your trip!

This garment will hold up very well in a light rain. The jacket will eventually leak after an extended period of time in moderate to heavy rain.
