The Gregory Baltoro 75 is a high performance pack that insures superior comfort without sacrificing function. The Response AFS suspension system includes a single aluminum stay that integrates with thermo molded composite load lifting panel to provide optimum load transfer. Independently rotating waistbelt load transfer panels register your hip angle, keeping your center of gravity aligned with your direction of movement. Waistbelt stabilizer straps and a thermo molded EVA back panel keep your pack steady as you move on the trail customizing the carry to your terrain. The top lid can be removed and configured into a fanny pack or sling bag and you can access your main gear compartment in three ways; top loading, front zip, and bottom zippered access.

I am an experienced backcountry backpacker and long-distance hiker with most of my time spent along the AT and the mountains of Virginia. I use this pack extensively through the cooler Winter months for its large load hauling capacity when I have a fair amount of cold-weather equipment added to my gear load. The organizaion of compartments make loading well organized and easily accessible. The suspension system is the most comfortable I've owned, with a very well built compression system that makes weight distribution and balance control excellent. The overall construction of the pack is outstanding; which is also it's only con, the pack weight is a pound or so higher than others similar in size and capacity. Personally, I'll haul the extra pound for the comfort, convenience, and durability of the pack's construction. My normal Winter load for 5 days in the backcountry comes in right at or just under 55lbs, and the Baltoro 75 hauls it beautifully.
