The Casio SDB100 60lap Sport Running Watch uses a mechanism that registers foot strikes. So if you changing the pace would change the stride which would not provide accurate readings. The Casio SDB100 60lap Sport Running Watch is meant to work within a set stride. So if you change the pace you change the stride which means you would need to change the stride setting on the watch to get an accurate reading.Answered on 3/20/2013 by Steve from Campmor
