Good for short trips, but I also used it for a 2-week long trip (casual clothes, summertime).

Size is a pro but also a con (for air travel). My only complaint is that on one of my flights I was required to fit the luggage into the "does your carry-on fit?" structure. It was maybe 2" too wide/deep, so I had a last minute scramble to grab things that I had intended to keep with me on the plane before surrenduring my carry on to the airlines. Then, they lost my carry-on for 3 days! Advice--always keep a small tote bag in the carry-on in case you have to give it up at the gate. The bag really is a workhorse, and it wasn't damaged despite being lost. Unfortunately, when full, it may just be too big for some airlines to allow you to carry on. I was maybe too honest because I saw others with larger carry-ons wheeling their suitcases onto the plane. Next time, I will just walk past the ticket agent.

  One side of the clam shell has 2 straps to hold folded cloths. the other side have the two separate compartments for smaller clothing items. You can use the Eagle Creek Pack-It™ System organizers in the side that have the 2 smaller compartments.

I'm tall. For example, I cannot pull my wife's carry-on thru the airport because I keep kicking it with my heals. A longer handle would solve the problem. It would be nice to know how far these retractable handles extend so one could decide if it were the right fit.

  The frame and the handle length are the same for the 3 different sizes...only the size of the luggage suitcase varies. In all sizes the total length with handle extended is $43.5 inches.
