Depending on the sensor mode entered, the second hand indicates direction, altitude differential, or barometric pressure tendency in easy-to-read analog format. The digital display shows data as values.
This means the model provides the best of both digital and analog formats. The Altitude Mode performs continuous measurements at 5-second intervals for the first three minutes. After that, measurements continue to be performed in accordance with either of two available setups (every five seconds for one hour or every tow minutes for 10 hours).

I expected more for this price point. I wore this watch on a weeklong backpack trip and it does not perform well at night. The light is very hard to activate in the dark; when it is activated the face is not illuminated very well and worst of all the hands and time are not luminous. I am contemplating sending the watch back.

Not only is the solar powered feature of the watch most appropriate for his life there, it is also very rugged and good looking (just like he is!) (That's Dad speaking....) No luck ladies, he's taken (for the moment!)

The Casio PAW5000-1 Atomic Tough Solar Analog Digital Watch will measure seconds in either the seep second hand or the digital display, but not both. Select digital and the second sweep hand resets to 12. We do not have any replacement band to fit this watch. The measurement is approx 20/22mm. We can't be exact because of the way the band form fits the watch. If the band is going to be replaced, take to a jewerly store to have them find one to fit. You can also try calling Casio for their help.
