Comments about Adventure Medical Kits Thermal Bivvy SOL:

When a sleeping bag is too much, this may still not be warm enough. Get a small, light thermal blanket from home & roll up into a similar size package. Use the two together (blanket inside). Use "blanket pins" (like giant safety pins) to secure your thermal blanket into a loose "mummy bag" inside this product. Thermal blanket absorbs condensation.

Comments about Adventure Medical Kits Thermal Bivvy SOL:

Carried in my car & BOB for the past year. Used it camping overnight last weekend, initially to give dogs more warmth. By morming, dogs & I were sharing coverage. It increased the comfort level in my 30F bag, and kept the bag on top of Thermarest WARM when I had to duck out of tent for potty trips. Folded up easily in the am & back in stuff sack.

I like the thickness, and durability of the product and will be ordering the Heatsheet, because it will give more coverage than the Bivy, which only unzips partway. It is bulkier to pack than the cheap Mylar sheets, but performance of the material makes it worth it. Day/nite difference from this product to Mylar.

I've not had occasion to use it yet , it's part of my 'go-bag' gear. I've taken it out and looked at it , but I haven't un-rolled it , mainly because I'd never get it rolled back-up and re-packed, but it seems like a good product.

This Bivy is handy to have along when you just might get stuck out over night(think Mt. Whitney east face rte). Light and compact. I unrolled it and got inside. 6' tall and I was able to cover up. Pair this with a simple debris shelter and you will be set for the night. Beware of condensation. Only drawback I see is that it is Made in China. China is the world's leading producer of junk. But I guess it's hard to screw up two panels stitched together, we'll see.

I'm using mine as an insulator in my Hennessy Hammock tent and as an alternative to a summer sleeping bag. I've also used it as a bivy. This thing really reflects heat back to the body, packs down small and is fairly durable. Good buy.

Great item. it replaced my bag liner. I throw it in my pack for emergencies, but I use it as a layer between my bag and mat and it really seems to make a difference. Stuffs easily back in the sack and ready to go. On warm days, I can crawl right inside and forget my down bag all together. The venting at the feet and velcro halfway down one side allows enough breathability so I don't clam up. It's even great in the morning to just wrap around your shoulders or sit on to keep out some of the cold. Well worth the ~6oz. I don't go on any backpacking trips without it.
