Easy Christmas shopping

By Girl Scout

from Huntington, NY

Comments about ETON Solarlink FR360 Radio:

After a year of Hurricane Irene and the freak October snow storm, I bought this as my go-to Christmas gift so ordered many. I'm hoping not to need it but my husband has been playing with it since we got one more for ourselves. Seems to work well. For older folks, the digital readout may be hard. I wish it included the AC cord but otherwise VERY happy. And Campmor had best prices - 30% cheaper.

Comments about ETON Solarlink FR360 Radio:

The directions said that this radio would run for 15 minuted after 90 seconds of cranking, but this managed less than 5 minutes. The digital radio band display was defective...did not display complete numerals. Campmor was great about taking it back although it did take a special trip across the GW Bridge

Comments about ETON Solarlink FR360 Radio:

I tried FOUR of these! After a certain period of time--sometimes 3 weeks, sometimes days--the raiod on each one stopped working. It wasn't the power--batteries were fresh, and the flashlight worked. The last one I left on all day to see if I could force it to stop, and it did - 3 days in. Seems like it's a contact in the radio.

I use it as a back-up radio for home and boat. A "must have" for hurricane season. I like the size, compact but not too small. The best product for peace of mind.

What are the user's options when neither cranking the dynamo nor 3 AAA batteries will power on the display or the radio functions of the unit? Interestingly, the flashlight feature is working.

As long as the I phone uses a USB recharging connection you could use the radio to recharge and I phone.
DC-IN 6V AC ADAPTER (not included)
This is the first socket to the left on the back of the radio, under
the rubber plugs. Plug in the AC adapter (6 Volt, positive polarity,
300 milliampere, not included) to the DC IN 6 volt socket. This also
charges the Ni-MH battery. In the United States, an AC adapter
can be purchased by calling 1-800-872-2228, 8 am - 4:30 pm,

If the built in Ni-MH battery fails, will the radio or any of your radios work with the crank or solar alone?

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

The crank over-rides the battery. So if the battery fails the crank would provide the power for the radio.

            • Q:

Do all power sources go through the battery to supply power? Or do they power direct?

              1 answer

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

The crank has the priority and the 3 AAA batteries are a backup. So all devices will run from crank power 1st then use the 3 AAA power as a backup.

As long as you have a cable to plug in your I pod, you can plug it into the Aux-in port. To charge your I pod you may need to contact Eaton for cables from them that will plug into your I pod charging port.
