Comments about High Sierra Col 35 Internal Frame Pack:

this backpack was a perfect fit, comfortable and affordable all at the same time. I had no difficulty on an overnight backpacking trip. One of the best features was the rain cover tucked underneath, that came in handy at night. My torso size is 16" and it fit just right.

I took this pack on two trips. One ten mile one night trip. One two night 27 mile trip. The hip belt was completely ineffective. It shows wear that I would expect only after years of use not 5 days.

Comments about High Sierra Col 35 Internal Frame Pack:

Look, this pack is as advertised and is at a great price. The "limitations" are that it does not have lots of pockets and it is not the biggest pack on the market. Knowing this, you can judge whether it fits your needs. However, if you are looking for a great pack at a great price... this is the one. It also offers plenty of eyelets for strapping items to the outside of pack for increasing your load.

Comments about High Sierra Col 35 Internal Frame Pack:

Great pack for the money, well made, lots of attachment points for gear. I purchased two of these packs one for my wife and one for my self, my wife is 5ft tall and fits here a little big (need to cut straps shorter easy fix) I'm 6ft tall and the pack fits fine but a little small, but we still like them just fine. I put 200ft of 10mm climing rope, a dozen quick draws, helmet, harness, shoes, GriGri&repel device and all other equipment for climbing. I also put a two liter hydration bladder which fit perfict. Still enough room for snacks and lunch, cell phone and crag book.

Comments about High Sierra Col 35 Internal Frame Pack:

I rated it 'Difficult to load' - only because the top opening seems a little... constricted with the double cinches - but that will secure the load inside better. I haven't put it through the ringer to see how tough it is, but it seems as it will hold up well. I like the capacity and the light weight. I didn't want any zippers, as they break too easily, and this has only one that closes the top cover pocket. It has 2 nice big water pockets on the outside. Has a handy attached rain cover that stuffs in the bottom of the pack. I'd recommend it.

This pack will be used more as a back up to my expedition pack. More like a day pack to me. Do not like the way the sternum strap is attached to the pack. Already have had issues with this strap pulling loose from pack. Replaced strap this issue is now resolved. Overall great pack for the money!

The Col 35 has Dual mesh side pockets hold 1000ml water bottles. What looks like pouches on the front straps are Velcro loops to to hold an ice axe shaft or other item that you want to strap to the outside of the pack.

As long as pack does not take up too much space, would work for that kind of adventure.

The torso range is 13"-17" so a 20" torso is too big for this pack.
