I bought this for my son for his fifth sleep away adventure trip to the state park in our state, and the lenses for the binoculars popped without much provocation! It was too bad as he really liked the item. Campmor promptly refunded the purchase price of the toy.

compass needs coaxing to point approximately north. as a toy, it may be okay.

This looked like a great gift idea for our two boys, but they tired quickly of the not-so-clear view they got through the binoculars and the "fussiness" of the mechanism/s. On the plus side, I just found one nearly buried in our backyard and it washed up nicely without seeming too banged up.
