Pros
Cons
Best Uses Comments about Coghlan's Metal Folding Stove: bought this for brother-in-law who lives in NYC. His quote prior to Sandy was "we never loose power". They were without power for 4 days.

Comments about Coghlan's Metal Folding Stove: I bought these for the sole purpose of being able to heat food, cook a little and make coffee etc, during winter-time power outages. It holds a small sauce pan full of liquid quite well. Very small, very simple, very cheap.

Comments about Coghlan's Metal Folding Stove: Live out in the country on a farm and we lose power frequently during the winter. Can't function without my coffee so will use this to heat water for that purpose as well as heating some foods.

Comments about Coghlan's Metal Folding Stove: Worked well with a medium size tea kettle. Heated the water quickly with a can of sterno, and heated a pot of soup or beans quickly also.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Coghlan's Metal Folding Stove: Living in a hurricane prone area, it is great if the power is out for a long time.

Comments about Coghlan's Metal Folding Stove: After watching the disaster in Japan, it cause me to think about 'what if' something happened here. Well, I had purchased this Sterno stove from your store nearly 3 years ago and never used it. I used it today and it proved to be the perfect little cooking source in case of an emergency. Dont laugh, but I was able to make , broccoli, squash and cheese enchiladas using a Sterno can and the stove. I will be back at the store this weekend to buy 2 more, one for my car and the other for my 'go-bag'

Comments about Coghlan's Metal Folding Stove: The stove was decent enough, small, stable, easy to set up. But in any moisture the fuel (sterno alcohol gel) would die out, heat VERY slowly or not even enough to boil water. One morning I was able to make some bacon with the stove, the next i couldn't get the bacon to even sizzle. It seems that the fuel absorbs moisture while in use then is unreliable the next time around. Maybe if you can find a better fuel than this stove could get more stars.

A:
When folded The Coghlan's Metal Folding Stove is 6.5 in wide, 6.5 in. long, .5 inches high.Q:
Can I use a Svea liquid alcohol burner in this stove?2 answers
A:
The Coghlan's Metal folding stove is designed for solid fuels only.A:
The "Trangia" alcohol burner, the SVEA military alcohol burner, (a trangia copy), and the newer Esbit alcohol burner,(another trangia copy)are all very close in size to a can of sterno. They will not only work, but will give much better heat, and better heat control in this little stove. I am surprised that "Coghlans" doesn't recommend them.Q:
What kind of fuel does it use?1 answer
A:
The fuel you would use is Sterno or canned heat
