Comments about Coghlan's Metal Folding Stove:

I bought these for the sole purpose of being able to heat food, cook a little and make coffee etc, during winter-time power outages. It holds a small sauce pan full of liquid quite well. Very small, very simple, very cheap.
They do get very hot so put on a burn/melt proof surface, I use ceramic tiles underneath. Thank you.

I live in wet washington state and love backpacking / camping and am looking for something lightweight and can function in our constant rainy weather. How does the fuel options handle humidity? and is this big enough for mess kits? In the reviews I see nothing about actual trail functionality. Thanks

The "Trangia" alcohol burner, the SVEA military alcohol burner, (a trangia copy), and the newer Esbit alcohol burner,(another trangia copy)are all very close in size to a can of sterno. They will not only work, but will give much better heat, and better heat control in this little stove. I am surprised that "Coghlans" doesn't recommend them.
