Q:
will the Brunton Inspire charge using a Brunton solar roll even if the light conditions are not optimal? So if i have the device in my pack, and the solar roll draped over my pack will it charge while i walk down the trail in and out of the trees, or will it turn off if its not reciving a strong enough charge?

  You may get minimal charge but it is meant to recieve full sunlight to maximize its usefullness.
