Great for moving water from the tap to the camp. The wire goes over the water port for pulling by the handle on the rollers - not obvious.

Comments about Reliance 8 Gallon Hydroller:

I had no issues with the water spout or rate of flow. I like that the spout unscrews and attaches on the inside of the cap for storage and transport. Wheels and handle seem sturdy, but I've only used once so far and didn't have to roll it far. Carried enough water for two days of sponge baths, water for cooking and washing dishes. I would definitely recommend.

Comments about Reliance 8 Gallon Hydroller:

Don't know what all the issues are with this. I used it multiple times on campouts last year without a hitch. It's easy to fill and transport. If you fill it too full (beyond the level of the air release) of course your air release won't work. It's the same as any other water jug. Needless to say, we get our 8 gallons out of it. Easy to fill with a pump or hose at campsites. I've scout camped for 10 years with the 7 gallon jugs you carry, and this is by far waaaayyy easier!

Great container; Spout not so great

    By HorseMom

    Pros

    • Easy to fill and move

    Cons

    • Spout is slow running

    Best Uses

    • Hauling drinking water

Comments about Reliance 8 Gallon Hydroller:

The concept is great however when I tipped it over to use the water spout the stream is very slow, yes I did have the plug off for the air pressure, but it made no difference. I finally unscrewed the entire cap and just poured the water out. The only reason I would not recommend it to a friend is because of the cost and poor performance of the spout

    Loved it..until it broke

    By Campin Becks

    from Pennsylvania State Parks

    Verified Buyer

Comments about Reliance 8 Gallon Hydroller:

I loved this jug. It's huge and convenient and it rolls! But it broke on one of my trips back form filling it up. It was all the way full and the handle popped right out and we can't get it back in no matter how hard we try. My dad is going to see what he can do, but if not I may try to return. If you do get it, I would suggest not filling it all the way (which kind of defeats the purpose). Also, another minor problem with it is that it pours quite slowly. There's an air release at the top, but it doesn't seem to do anything unfortunately.

    Envy of the campsite

    By Fand J Campers

    from New York, NY

Comments about Reliance 8 Gallon Hydroller:

The hydroller made our camping trip almost feel like being at a luxury hotel!! But enough of the hyperbole.
It was really great being able to roll our water supply back to the campsite so very easily. I felt really sorry for some of the other people I saw struggling to lug their water containers back to their sites.
Eight gallons is a pretty good amount, and lasts a significant amount of time. The faucet that is tucked away inside is a brilliant piece of design.
All in all, a great product. Even used it to store water when Hurricane Irene came through, though fortunately did not need to use it.

        A:

There unfortunately is no hard fast rule in this regard. it's all relative to temperature, initial quality of the water, and if it was treated or not. In general it's important to keep in mind that hotter temperatures will increase the potential for bacterial growth.

        A:

This item is PBA free. There is a hideaway spout that is screweds to the inside of the large cap on top of the unit. That spout can be unscrewed from the inside of the cap and then be screwed to the exterior of the cap so it then becomes a spigot with on off capability. when the unit is tipped on its back. The opening for the spigot is about an inch in diameter.

I am considering this for hauling water for my travel trailer. Is there a spout or a hose attachment so that you can pour into a hole designed for a water hose input?

      1 answer

        A:

There is a spigot inside the cap that unscrews and reattaches to the cap to drain water in a controlled manner.
