Comments about Esbit Alcohol Burner: This product is the basis for my Cook stove set. I use it with my Titanium Hex stove. Simple and effective. What more can you ask for. Contains fuel for two meals if controlled frugally.

Comments about Esbit Alcohol Burner: Used when I needed a second stove when cooking for small group (8), provided the extra heat that was needed without addiutional weight. Had to make a small stand out of aluminum which also acted as a wind screen. Light, inexpensive and well made. Great combination. Alcohol is easy to purchase.

Comments about Esbit Alcohol Burner: This burner works as designed. I've read other reviews that stated that the gasket leaks alcohol on the esbit. I have found that if I tighten the cap well on the Esbit then it does not leak. I bought this to use in combination with a US Army canteen cup and cup stove. It makes a great system that all nests together. I purchased a slightly larger canteen bag with accessory pockets and I can store everything (including some spare fuel and silverware) in one place.

Comments about Esbit Alcohol Burner: Works good but will not boil cold water too easily. It will boil water but you have to wait for the burner to heat up real good before you can add pot or pan of water or burner will go out. I think this is problematic of these type burners but the only con I can think of. Overall, a good little burner that I have and will continue to use!

Comments about Esbit Alcohol Burner: I have the Triangia version of this stove since 1986. The Esbit version seems to be a carbon copy.I do not use the flame regulator. I use the cap without the rubber ring as a snuffer. It is easy to make a pot stand out of stainless steel wielding wire. THIS STOVE CANNOT FAIL. EVER! (unless you run over it with a car). I generally use alcohol from the hardware store. The healthiest choice would be to use Everclear (liquor) but that stuff is expensive.

Comments about Esbit Alcohol Burner: I received the Esbit alcohol stove along with the 985ml cookset as a gift. I have read reviews complaining that other Esbits leaked fuel. I filled mine to the brim and and shook it while wrapped in a paper towel- no leaks. Since there are no real moving parts (other than the simmer ring) there is nothing to go wrong. With an aluminum foil windscreen I was able to boil two cups of water in 8 minutes. The simmer ring takes some getting used to but is effective as well. I am shocked these aren't used by more people!

Could this stove be used in an Esbit tablet stove?1 answer

No do not use the tablets in this alcohol stove. The tablet would be too far away from the heating surface.Q:
Forgive my ignorance, but if the inexpensive grain alcohol, sold in drug stores burns in this container, would the same alcohol also burn in, say, a tin can? With this burner, it appears that one lid controls how much air the fuel gets, which, I'm guessing controls the amt. of burn and heat is generated. So, this burner is just placed under one of the stands, that a sm. pot can be placed on? How long do you think this container will burn for? The picture makes it look as if it's hold a very sm. amt. of alcohol. Thanks. jp1 answer
A:
The burner holds 3 oz. Rough calculation is 1oz alcohol to boil 1 Liter of water. So you can boil 3 Liters of water on 1 full can.Q:
