Everyone in my family has one.
Everyone...including my 3 yo has enough wind to easily blow this.
It is louder than the other whistles I have. ("Had"...I threw them out)
It will blow wet

This is a whistle women should carry, it will alert people at great distance, and if being threatened could damage the perpatrators ears cause enough discomfort to allow escape.
I bought it for survival/catastrophe kits.

Nice gear.. I have a fox 40...and some other two chambered piece of gear.. this bests them all..
Loud...very loud.. on a side by side blow.
works wet.. without losing the first blow
and most importantly to me.. works when a 3 yo blows it.. maximum noise with minimum air.
I tad bigger than others... so it wont fit in a sucrets tin..but function over all else.. it beats all
I now have five... one for each family member and a spare.. the others are in the trash.
If my kids cant blow it loud enough to be heard when they are scared and breathless.. then its worthless to me as a safety whistle

Most of my backpacking/kayaking is solo. If something happens to me and I can't get to help I need an effective way to bring help to me. The Storm Whistle around my neck provides an effective method of alerting basically anyone I can see. It's amazing how little distance the human voice travels when yelling for help.

This is a whistle, to turn it on you blow through it , it gives a loud sound, to turn it off you stop blowing through it, it gets quiet.

I bought this for my elderly mother at home. She has managed not to get all of her paperwork in for a telephone home emergency alert system, but she wears this great whistle on a simple cord, as a stand-in until she does activate it- faithfully. I will have to sew a ribbon-lanyard together for yet more comfort.

i bought this for my 14 yr. old son because this will be his first year out hunting and i wanted him to have some safety gear. i had him try this out in the house just so i could see how loud it was. my advise...
...don't EVER do that. i thought i was bleeding from the ears! at least i know someone will be able to hear him if he gets lost in the woods, i know i won't be able to anymore!

We have other whistles like this one and think they are excellent because they are so loud (which is what you want in an emergency whistle). We bought more to have in our cars in case of emergency and for safety while sailing. We keep them attached to our PFDs and they can be heard around our lake in case of need.
