Comments about Light My Fire SL3 Knife: Basically no grip at all, the whistle actually isn't loud at all no way anyone would hear me. The blade comes out quickly when needed so I like that. Haven't tried the flint.

Comments about Light My Fire SL3 Knife: This little knife is a great tool to add to any kit. It is small and so, useful. blade comes sharp, whistle is very loud and ear shattering. The fire steel works grear as any fire steel does. All together this knife is a multi_survival_tool. I now own two, one for my wife and one for me. Pros

Comments about Light My Fire SL3 Knife: I have used this knife for the past 3 years with great satisfaction. We teach fire starting to our Scouts and everyone has their own "Fire Kits". When demonstrating mine I am always asked, by adults as well as youth, where I got my knife. I bought one for my son as well and he never goes camping without it. One comment mentioned a fear of losing the firesteel. The only way you would lose it is to not put it back in its place on the knife. Once there it is very secure and will not fall out. The emergency whistle is very loud and the firesteel generates an abundance of sparks. Many fires have been started with my knife and many many more are still to come. This will make a great gift for any outdoors person.

Comments about Light My Fire SL3 Knife: I bought this knife as a backup for my bug out bag. I have since been using it on a daily basis. Construction is a bit light weight but I've had no problems with it. It is holding it's edge well. The firestarter has a very snug hold to it so you shouldn't have problems. The whistle is loud and shrill. Overall, this is a very useful knife.

Comments about Light My Fire SL3 Knife: I have not used the knife yet on a trip. I'm in the process of gearing up. The only thing I did not like about this knife was it had no sharp edge when I got it. It is light and compact, you don't need a Crocodile Dundee, Rambo knife to survive. This blade is just right for survival needs, cleaning fish etc. I will try the fire starter on a wilderness trip in June.

Comments about Light My Fire SL3 Knife: I live in the Rocky Mountains at 10,000 ft. and this knife goes everywhere I go! I Have used the fire starter and it works great. I use the knife nearly every day and perhaps that is why it seemed to dull so quickly. I just lost mine running through the forest with my hound dog and I'm getting a new one today - feel naked without it!

Comments about Light My Fire SL3 Knife: Great combination of tools! It is sharp, tough, perfect weight, and offers survival security. My only fear is that the firesteel rod may get lost if it is used too much, i.e. wearing-down the mechanism that locks rod in. Not an issue yet, maybe an unfounded fear on my part.
