Comments about Black Diamond Storm Headlamp: My only beef is that the whole battery cover/screw assembly was kind of chincey. Other then that its a great head lamp. Very bright!

Comments about Black Diamond Storm Headlamp: Purchased this for a little brother. Durable, water resistant, adjustable beam. Should last for years!

Comments about Black Diamond Storm Headlamp: Very happy with this headlamp. Actually have 2 of them and use it for many things. The red lights come in handy when you need a little light and don't want to kill your night vision. My only gripe is that the button is sometimes tricky to locate. It is not a pronounced button so I find myself feeling around for it sometimes.

Comments about Black Diamond Storm Headlamp: used it on a 3day backpack trip and found it very effective...really bright, finding the button on top seems tricky at times, a little bulky, wouldn't probably use it for trail/road night running, but I thought great for backpacking/camping purposes...used the red light mode fairly often inside the tent and was very effective

Comments about Black Diamond Storm Headlamp: Very strong light. The dimming switch is great. Turn on red light without cycling through white light and loosing night vision. A little larger and heavier than I wanted but I'll deal with that to have the functionality.

Comments about Black Diamond Storm Headlamp: It was worth the extra [$]! I would have rated it with four stars if it had used two batteries. But I guess the higher power needed the third battery to get sufficient run-time life or power. It's a pretty compact light despite using three AAA batteries. There are plenty of lighting combinations and they are all pretty effective. However, trying to remember the combination of clicks on the push-button switch is tough to do between infrequent outings. I wish BD would have molded the instructions onto the plastic to provide users a "cheat sheet." The high beam is pretty far reaching and broad enough to be effective. The tilt feature is simple and very stable (and a little tight to adjust, of course). Low beam is pretty broad and effective. I really like the dimming feature. It's great for reading or other low-light needs.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Black Diamond Storm Headlamp: I've had my headlamp for a few weeks now and so far it's been great. I been using it to go caving, so the water proof feature has been idea. The beam is very bright and battery life seems good Displaying reviews 1-8 |

Q:
I'm looking for a good spot headlamp that can be used on the trail and this is pretty lihgt. Right now I'm thinking about going between this and the Princeton Remix. The Remix has a better price while the Storm is around but the Storm seems to fit my requirements better. My only factor is the price and which feels better to wear. Need help to choose the better.2 answers
A:
The storm has more more setting, is brighter and has a gasket around the battery compartment to prevent corrosion on the battery contacts.A:
I also vote for the storm. Waterproof so ideal if you do nasty weather trips or water sports. Dim settings are very comfortable or reading. Lock feature is very reliable and intelligent. This ensures it will not turn on accidentally in your pack. Requires you press button for 6 seconds- meaning u really mean to turn it on, not some random item pressing against it in your pack. As soon as light comes on u need to release button. If button is kept pressed even after light comes on, logic says you are not aware that something's pressing on button (i.e., compression straps). Light will turn off. Brightest, best value light out there.
