Comments about Log House Designs No-See-Um Bug Jacket: Bought this years ago and have never needed it so much as for the summer of 2012. Mosquitoes, no-see-ums and green head flies have all been kept at bay, but breezes still make it through. Extremely lightweight, it stays away from the body, even when something lands on it because it's a little stiff. Because the shirt is sort of stiff, it's also a little scratchy when donning and doffing.

Comments about Log House Designs No-See-Um Bug Jacket: I wear it in subtropical environment infested with multitude of mosquito species. I can receive up to 100 no-see-um bites on one forearm in several hours with just a spray deterrent (I have tried many) but with the jacket I can reduce that to a mere few. I can still get a few bites through the jacket and with bug spray on. However overall it is a very good deterrent and works best when not resting on skin. It can get warm like wearing a light jacket but what is nice, it lets the breeze thru. Easy to pack and use.

The No See-Um Bug Jacket drastically reduces the number of bug bites I get, but it definately doesn't prevent all mosquito bites. I have tried, as suggested, spraying the shirt with bug repellent, but that still did not prevent me from receiving several huge welts after spending a half hour around my pond. I will continue to wear this item until I can find something that eliminates all bites.

The Jacket an socks worked great and we were able to sit out an enjoy the view, sunset and wine. The hint to rub our repellent (all natural) enhanced the effectiveness, we believe. If you treated the jacket with bug repellent and the repellant was washed off then reapplying the repellant would keep the jacket effective. Yes, it covers most of the face without over doing it to the point it is uncomfortable. I used a slightly more expensive bug shirt several years ago that had a lot more coverage over the face (but was so uncomfortable that I always left the hood down).
