Does this knife have a clip on the side. In case you don't want to use the carrying case?

The Gerber Bear Grylls Folding Sheath Knife does not have a clip built into the knife body to attach to a belt.

Is the sheath made of ballistic nylon?

The sheath material for the Gerber Bear Grylls Folding Sheath Knife is describe by Gerber as "military-grade nylon". It appears to be similar to ballistic nylon, even though Gerber doesn't specifically say so.
