Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellant Pump Spray: Followed the directions to a "T" and complimented exposed skin with a 100% DEET product and worked a fence line for 2 days in the woods of SW Missouri..sometimes in thick undergrowth as well as knee high field grass and not ONE tick! I will be using this product again!

Comments about Sawyer 24 oz. Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellant Pump Spray: I treat one pair of pants, one long-sleeve shirt (lightweight nylon) and one pair of socks (wool). When I put these garments on, I experience no ticks. Mosquitoes still attack my hands and face, but these are the only places I need to apply repellant (DEET). I take 7 to 10 day canoe trips in the BWCA and Quetico, and I have been using this stuff ever since I discovered it. I wish Campmor carried the military-spec version, which uses a soaking system instead of a sprayer. The sprayer works most of the time, but if you wait to apply the product just before you leave town and end up with a bad sprayer, you're out of luck. Pros

I wore exam gloves and a surgeon's mask and followed the directions on the package to treat my shirt and pants. I found NO ticks on my clothing or me after the trip.

Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellant Pump Spray: I used this on Canadian black bear hunt the second week of June,prime bug season,black flies,mosquitos,no-see-ums,wood flies..The bugs were still there and they were a nuisance but they didn't land on my treated clothing,you still have to take precautions on or around bare skin ie... head net and gloves which I neglected to treat..but worked great on clothing as described...I'll use this on all my back woods trips..

Is this product actually dangerous to get on skin? I have been told that permethrin should not be used on skin because body oils render it ineffective rather quickly.
