Just got this for Christmas and had to try it. Currently it is 0 deg with a 10 mph wind and this brought an aluminum pot with 8 oz or so of snow almost to a boil with 1 tablet. I would recommend making sides for it to direct the heat more to make it more effective, but it works great as is!

Bought this as a gift for my friend's birthday. Was surprised at how slim it was and it stores the extra fuel perfectly inside when folded up. This can easily be tossed into any backpack hit, vehicle emergency kit, or 72Hour Pack and you'll be pleased. We tried one fuel bit and it boiled a cup of water in a steel canteen cup in about 9 min.

I bought this stove for two reasons:
          1. For use in a winter emergency car kit.
          2. As a backup stove on camping trips.
This product will avail itself in both situations.

The stove works very well. It will boil a quart of water in about 8 minutes (out of the wind)The fuel does have a bit of an ammonia smell but not that bad. Because of its lite weight and small size its perfect for day hikes when you would like something hot e.g. soup tea etc.

Comments about Esbit Pocket Stove with 6 Solid Fuel Cubes:

This stove is my new best friend on solo trips. Compact, lightweight, and effective. I used one fuel cube to boil water for Cup Noodles on two nights (the cube died before completely boiling the second batch, but the water was very hot). I easily lit my fuel cube with one match each time. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't need to worry about wind but I can see how it would be a threat.

As others have said, the burning cube has an odd odor and leaves a sticky, black residue. The stove will fold away but plan ahead for how you'll clean/store the pot.

Comments about Esbit Pocket Stove with 6 Solid Fuel Cubes:

I tried to make some ready noodles on this stove; one fuel tab went out just before the water boiled (granted it was very windy and I didn't have a windscreen and there were 3 cups of water). However, this is a great little stove for just boiling a cup of hot chocolate or coffee on a short excursion. I would recommend something larger if you're cooking for more than 2 people, though.

I absolutely love this little stove! easy to start, light weight, could fit it in my pocket if need be. this product is great for two person camping. only needed to use one fuel pack per meal and thats cookin for two! while my other fellow campers were messing with there fuel containers and priming there stoves I was already well on my way to boiling water. hands down perfect for two people would not be so good if cooking for more than two.

                        A:

Since the fuel is a solid fuel colder temperature will not cause any combustion or pressure problems. However the heat output will be impacted by cold. You probably would not be able to use this stove in weather colder than freezing. This is due to the heat loss and the limited time the solid fuel will burn.

Any cookware will work well with this stove, the type of fuel would not limit you to a certain type of cookware. It is recommended not to use a pot larger than about 1/2 liter since it is not efficient for large quantities.
