If you can afford one top quality, indespensible, knife/multi tool this is the one. The things that the swiss champ are capable of are truly amazing. Handy brochure included, illustrates many uses of swiss champ. In survival situation, magnifying glass will start fire; also useful if arms are to short to read small print on labels. With Swiss Champ in pocket, never again be without a pen and yes it writes under water. Next time she casually mentions you have something stuck between your teeth...swiss champ has a tooth pick for that. Can't find the straight pin; Hint:lift the handy corkscrew and look straight down where the corkscrew pivots in the handle...you should beable to see the pin head(wife found it,not me). Swiss Champ includes a wood chisel...also useful in soap carving and other detailed intricate work. This piece of equipment with all that it has to offer and all that it is capable of delivering carries nicely in the pocket or on the hip; grips easily and firmly,deploys readily to me is an essential component in my pocket, gear bag and pack.
