Comments about Sven Saw Sven Folding Camp Saw 21 Inch: My 21" Sven saw is over 40 years old (was my father's) and continues to soldier on. We've used it for camping as well as brush clearing and landscape work (recommend a proper bow saw for those though). The blade never seemed to get dull, though I finally managed to break one - you can cut as much wood as will fit into it, and as much as you have the fitness for. This is one of those dead-simple tools that you find becoming part of every trip. Others have noted that there is a hazard of losing the wingnut - I have never done so but carrying a spare might be wise.

Comments about Sven Saw Sven Folding Camp Saw 21 Inch: Really pleased and impressed with this saw, and so are my camping/canoeing buddies. This saw and a hand ax is all you need, no more full size axes for backpacking or canoe camping. If you are buying for backpacking, I would suggest the smaller 15 inch model.

Comments about Sven Saw Sven Folding Camp Saw 21 Inch: This saw is extremely lightweight and compact. For it's size it cuts well, stays sharp and has a very good "feel" to it. I use it for camping and it cuts hardwood fast enough to keep a fire going all the time. It's actually a pleasure to use this and I would highly recommend it for hikers, backpackers, cyclists and other purists.

Comments about Sven Saw Sven Folding Camp Saw 21 Inch: This is my second saw, the first one I had for 35 years and still is usable, just not as tight as the new one. I have used other saws and this one works the best for me.

Comments about Sven Saw Sven Folding Camp Saw 21 Inch: I used this once so far on a trip and it could cut through medium size trees with some work. The function is fine so far, but it seems the blade warps on one end near the handle when i tighten it and it seems strange. Overall I feel pleasant about owning this product

Q:
what about utility \? Can you build a log cabin with one blade? can you sharpen it or do you need a set of replacements?2 answers
A:
A log cabin would be a bit much for this blade. Also this is more of a limb saw verses a true cross cut lumbering saw.A:
I've had this Sven folding saw for over 20 years -- and I'm just thinking of replacing the blade now. It is a great hand saw for cutting small branches (up to about 6" diameter). I use it for firewood when camping and for pruning trees at home.Q:
How small does this fold? Does the handle fold making this a small package?3 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The overall length of the saw while closed is about 21". The red handle comes completely off and the blade folds down into the silver part. Then the red handle slides onto the end of the silver piece. It is a nice, handy set up.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
This saw folds up to the length of the silver bar (21 inches). Only a small wing nut protrudes from one end. I keep it in a green plastic bin (my camping kit) which in turn fits in the cargo carrier on the roof of my car.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
The blade folds into the handle, but the handle itself does not fold.

Merchant response: The warping is a function of over tightening the blade. Snug the blade up but avoid warping by over tightening.
