I do a lot of camping, and when back pack camping, I like to travel light. When I get to where I'm going, I fill the container using my Katadyn filter and I'm good for 1-2 days. Repeat as necessary.

I bought this to carry water while backpacking. Because it is collapsible, it doesn't take much space but it can store a lot of water when sources are far apart. In that regard it worked fine. However, it is difficult to screw on the lid--it keeps wanting to cross thread. A leak while backpacking could get everything wet plus you could end up short of water. It's fine for when water is not critical and a leak won't be much trouble.
