Comments about Tracks Sherlock Travel Staff:

Wanted to use this staff on day one, coming home from the store, but stripped the threads trying to reassemble the torn-down sections. Unable to separate the sections again. For my purposes, as a travel staff, this product is now unusable.

This is a well made, strong walking stick with great adjustability and small footprint when broken down for packing. Camera attachment is very useful too.

Looks to be just what I need. Alas, age is beginning to tell, and I wanted a prop to help
on rough ground and steep park stairs.

Comments about Tracks Sherlock Travel Staff:

i haven't felt the need for a walking stick even where it would have been of benefit. just never liked carrying another thing that i may only use for a small percentage of a hike. since getting a young pup & going on urban & park hikes with her, & encountering some enthusiastic or aggressive dogs, i decided that a walking stick used as a shielding impliment could be the most humane device to discourage overly active interaction. this does seem fit for that use & in severe case, with that walnut knob...deliver a knock to end all involvement. have been pleasantly surprised for the most part as a walking aid. it does have a mighty long & SHARP tip. almost spear-like. the basket is a large one for snow & is an effort to attach & more an effort to take off. don't spear yourself!
the rubber tip is (i think) better suited for hard surface walking. removing it gives you only a choice best suited for ice or picking up garbage. needs a screw-on tip that is somewhere in the middle. length is easy to adjust, very stable, & not hideous. not sure what the total length foam covering actually accomplishes, but it is what it is. with that spike tip, it should do well when used for a camera mount. all in all, for the most part, it could/should meet anyone's various needs to some if not all degrees.

Comments about Tracks Sherlock Travel Staff:

I have had my Sherlock for 15 years. It has travelled to Europe and the Rocky Mountains. The compact size is easy to travel with and assembled it is extremely sturdy. I have a balance problem and it serves me well in the city as well as the countryside - anywhere the ground is uneven
