Comments about Tracks Sherlock Walking Staff: This is my second Tracks Walking Staff. It took me 17 years to wear out the first one. That included numerous Dall Sheep, Grizzly, Moose, Caribou and Black Bear hunts. This staff is excellent in extreme conditions. I also used it on average 3 to 5 days a week on short day hikes in the Chugach Mountains over the past 17 years. The new one is every bit as good as the old one. Excellent grip and handle. Great to use the screw on top for a camera mount or to mount my spotting scope on it for quick look arounds. This walking staff is well worth the price and is high quality and long lasting.

Comments about Tracks Sherlock Walking Staff: Not a fan of treking style poles but wanted a good hiking staff. Read the reviews on this one and it was exactly what my son and I were looking for to use on our backpacking trips. Don't like small pole tips and this one is very durable and has a good size footprint for stability.

Comments about Tracks Sherlock Walking Staff: I bought my first Tracks Sherlock staff about 20 years ago in Sitka, Alaska and used it for many years hiking in the Alps, the Scottish Highlands, Alaska and my own beautiful state of Minnesota. After a few years I purchased the take-apart version to use in the other hand when mountain hiking. If only using one staff, I prefer the Sherlock version with it's bigger footprint but find the lack of a spike in the take-apart style is easier to get through airport security.

Comments about Tracks Sherlock Walking Staff: Quality made product with locking holes. No instructions. At first it was difficult to figure out how to adjust it's length since "detent button" is under a black rubber sleeve and there is a line etched in the extension piece. The line has to be lined up with the holes (under the rubber sleeve) and notch. Once you figure this out it's easy to adjust and works well. Excellent gripping strap and knob on top and will support my weight without a problem. Originally had a cheaper brand that was turned to lock. Unfortunately the cheaper one slipped when full weight was applied.

Comments about Tracks Sherlock Walking Staff: I am a below knee amputee and I use this walking staff instead of a cane. It adjusts easily and reduces back pain. It is more stable to walk around the city with than a cane since you are not leaning over to use it and it doesn't slip as easily. Besides it looks cooler.

Comments about Tracks Sherlock Walking Staff: I used one of these for years until it finally collapsed under my 6'4" 220# weight plus 35# pack in the White Mountains Bristlecone Forest last February. The point was lodged through 2' of snow and into some fractured stone as I descended. The stick bent but held, and broke my fall by giving me a good handgrip. Great product. [...] It's also a good brace for other equipment, good reaching stick to knock down fruit, poke dogs, whack snoring tent mates, whatever.
