Comments about MSR Alpine Spice Shaker: I use it in restaurants, not for camping. I carry cayenne pepper, which is not usually available on a table, to avoid asking for it, or for it being unavailable. A waterproof container is important even for this use.

Comments about MSR Alpine Spice Shaker: It's kind of small, depending on what you plan to use with it. It could be easily lost. But all in all it is a simple, easy spice shaker. You must be careful replacing the cap after filling. There is a rubber seal that can be damaged when you snap the cap back on. This is not an issue during use. There is a flip up lid for that. Only on refilling do you deal with the rubber seal.
