Comments about Atlas Snow-Shoe Company Atlas 12 Series Snowshoe - Men's: I bought these as an alternative to my older Tubbs Mtn 30's; although the Atlas shoes are larger, they are much lighter. The binding excels during installation, but can be fussy during removal. I did have one binding strap loosen, but this was on a HEAVY bushwhack over several miles. Crampons are good and are lower profile than the Mtn 30's, which allow for a more natural (heel level, not down)gait without sacrificing traction. Float and balance are excellent. A note to those reading all reviews: after many years working in bike/ski/outdoor stores I would sometimes come across customers with unrealistic expectations of snowshoe float. Float is a function of many variables, to include technique, snow quality, terrain pitch and user weight!
