Only used for keeping hands warm, did not test on snow or waterproofing. Did not subject to any stresses. Clip to hold pair together is hard to operate/useless.

Comments about Gordini Fall Line II Soft Shell Gloves - Men's:

I like these gloves but they are too much for my climate. Excellent if you have lot of "less than" 40 degree temperature days. They have a lot more insulation than I thought from looking at the picture. I got some Gordini mittens 3 years ago and they still look like new and are great for colder days here. I was confused by the picture- these gloves are heavy duty cold weather critters.

Comments about Gordini Fall Line II Soft Shell Gloves - Men's:

Used these gloves during snow shoveling. I found my fingertips getting somewhat cold, but overall my hands stayed dry and warm. They are just a little awkward putting on, as you have to make sure the pinky section of the liner extends all the way into the finger, but this is a minor issue. Overall very satisfied.

Comments about Gordini Fall Line II Soft Shell Gloves - Men's:

This is my second pair of Gordinis'. Bought my first pair over 6 years ago, and they have held up pretty well.

Great product, only qualm with the Fall Line II is the craftsmanship.

I had to return my first pair for a replacement pair as they were defective in workmanship.

Two of the fingers were twisted or crooked; they did not look or feel normal. They are made in Indonesia, not exactly a cold weather climate.

Other than that I think they are Great!

      Good But Not Great

      By Ed the Vet

      from Paxton, MA

      Pros

      • Medium bulk
      • Soft
      • Warm

      Cons

      • "gauntlet" too short
      • Drawstring

      Best Uses

      • Light to mod activity
      • Snowsports

Comments about Gordini Fall Line II Soft Shell Gloves - Men's:

I was looking for a soft shell glove at a bargain price. I also wanted something waterproof and breathable with minimal insulation. My intent was to have a lightweight glove for spring skiing.

I found this glove as a "Hot Bargain" and compared the price to something more of what I wanted, but wasn't waterproof. This glove certainly represents a compromise.

After skiing with them in 20 degree, wind-free conditions, I found them to be comfortable and adequate. After my first few runs, I tucked in some hand warmers over the back of my hand and my fingers stayed warm and dry the rest of the day.

Put a check in the breathable box. The waterproof part has yet to be tested, but I expect they will fare pretty well on a snowy day of skiing. I don't expect them to hold out rain. What remains to be seen is how they hold up in a heavy, wet snow during shoveling, snowball making, or rolling a snowman with the kids. Just about every waterproof breathable glove struggles with this test.

My only beef comes with the back end of the product. The drawstring does not close over my wrist, even with the jacket tucked underneath. The gauntlet is too short, so my jacket separates and wind can whip up underneath the cuff of my sleeve. I tried to place the cuff tight over the top of the wrist area, but when using my poles or reaching for the safety bar of the lift, the glove and sleeve slide apart.

All in all, this is more of a "lukewarm deal". For another 15 bucks, I could by a pricy brand name soft shell water resistant glove that could slide under my much more substantial shell gloves and have a much better result.

Keep you warm, size large though

Comments about Gordini Fall Line II Soft Shell Gloves - Men's:

The gloves kept me warm and they are waterproof. Haven't had them in snowy conditions yet but have had them in cold conditions. Cold as in 10-15 degrees still very warm. Only down side is the fingers are longer. I had size medium, should have got small size. Order size less then you think.
